Robert Gaskins
The inventor of PowerPoint..

I'm a PowerPoint fan and I make no bones about it. I've been using and teaching it since 1997. . PowerPoint is one of the most user friendly, yet powerful programs on the market. It's a great tool when done well. The only limitation is your own creativity. See the video How Not To Use PowerPoint. It's very funny. Just do the opposite and you're on your way to making great presentations.

Do you want to insert a picture on a Powerpoint slide?

Tip: The conventional way is to click Insert > Picture from file and browse for the picture you want. However, if you want a quick picture off the web, right click on any picture and click Copy, open your slide in Powerpoint and click Edit > Paste (or CTRL+ V). The picture will appear on your slide. Grab the handles from any corner (not the middle) to resize and retain proportions.

Do you want to copy a picture off the web that's blocked?

Tip: Have no fear. It's still possible. Hit the Print Screen key or ALT+Print Screen to put only the top window (with your picture visible) in the clipboard. Open your Powerpoint slide, Paste (CTRL+V) and the image of the screen (including your picture) will appear. Right click on the picture and click Show Picture Toolbar. Use the crop tool to trim away the excess screen portion and you are left with the image that was impossible to copy.
